Certificate Programs

Family and Community Counselling Certificate

The Family and Community Counselling program offers specialized training for delivering personal counselling and social services within the cultural values and beliefs of Indigenous community. Students are encouraged to understand their history, and to integrate traditional knowledge and skills into their practice

Indigenous Justice Studies Certificate

The Indigenous Justice Studies (IJS) program explores topics related to crime and deviance, the criminal justice system, and the rule of law. Courses critically examine the various responsibilities of key components of a justice system that strives to ensure the safety and protection of society.

Indigenous Land Stewardship

The ILS certificate offers students career preparation in land protection & resource management. Graduates will engage in key issues relevant to Indigenous Peoples' homelands based on traditional principles of environmental and social justice

Information Technology Support Technician Certificate

Here at NEC (Native Education College), our (ITST) Information Technology Support Technician program, a 24-week journey designed to propel your career in technology or provide a steppingstone for specialized studies

Indigenous Early Childhood Education Certificate

In this 11-months certificate program, students prepare for a rewarding career in early childhood education field. Students will gain foundational knowledge about the field of early childhood education (ECE) in a program that is infused and centres Indigenous Knowledges and ways of being.
Elders care

Health Care Assistant Certificate

The program will provide individuals with the knowledge and skills to function independently as healthcare workers and members of the healthcare team. Through a combination of theory, lab, practicum, & Indigenous teachings learners gain the skills and knowledge required to provide the highest standard of personal care that promotes the physical, social, and emotional well-being for clients.

Office Administration & Employment Training Certificate

This 7-month program provides learners with essential computer, data management, communication, business, and job search skills in the field of office administration. In addition to classroom knowledge, students prepare for advanced administrative careers by gaining hands-on experience in a culturally-supported environment.
