Mr. Keith Henry is a Métis person that was born in Thompson, Manitoba and raised in Prince Albert, Saskatchewan. Mr. Henry achieved a Bachelor Degree in Education from the University of Saskatchewan in 1995.
Mr. Henry began his career in 1995 with teaching positions in Saskatchewan that included Black Lake Indian Band, Cumberland House Cree Nation, and as a Program Coordinator for Dumont Technical Institute. Mr. Henry also worked with young offenders at Kilburn Hall in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan where he was a Teacher Therapist from 1995-1998. Mr. Henry also delivered Indian Studies programs implemented through distance education courses with the University of Regina in 1996.
In 1999 Mr. Henry began employment with the Métis Employment and Training of Saskatchewan Incorporated (METSI) as the Director of Programming and quickly was promoted to the role of Chief Executive Officer (CEO). In 2008, Mr. Henry started his own consulting company and is the President and CEO of KCD Consulting Incorporated. Today, Mr. Henry works with several clients including the Aboriginal Tourism Association of British Columbia, Treaty 8 Tribal Association, Prophet River First Nations, Alexis Creek Indian Band, Enbridge Northern Gateway Pipelines Project, plus several others.
Mr. Henry also volunteers time in the Aboriginal community and maintains several Board positions including the Industry Council for Aboriginal Business as Vice President, Native Education College Chairperson, member of the Minister’s Council of Tourism, Vancouver Board of Trade’s Aboriginal Opportunities Committee and founding President of the British Columbia Métis Federation.
